Compare WiCAN PRO and WiCAN side by side
  • Two form factors: WiCAN-OBD plugs into the OBD-II port, WiCAN-USB has a USB port and screw terminals
  • CAN 2.0A/B up to 1 Mbit/s with TCP and UDP over Wi-Fi, in access point or station mode
  • Works with RealDash, SocketCAN, BUSMaster and SavvyCAN, plus an API for Python, C#, LabVIEW and more
  • Battery-saving sleep mode under 1 mA when the vehicle is off
  • Wi-Fi and CAN settings in a built-in web interface, firmware updates over Wi-Fi
  • MQTT battery voltage alerts on WiCAN-OBD, USB-to-CAN and USB-to-UART bridge on WiCAN-USB

WiCAN is the original MeatPi OBD adapter: an ESP32-C3 with a CAN transceiver, running open source firmware that exposes the vehicle bus over Wi-Fi, BLE and USB. It joins your existing Wi-Fi network or hosts its own access point, and dashboards such as RealDash connect to it on Android, iOS and Windows.

For new OBD-II projects we recommend WiCAN PRO, which adds a dedicated OBD interpreter and the full set of legislated protocols. WiCAN remains the right pick for RealDash dashboards, bench work over USB and projects that only need plain CAN.
